![]() Chaos Decks hit the ground running with strong, simple Normal Summons early in the Duel. This strategy is a one-two punch that starts off strong, and only gets better with time. Immunity to popular tech cards like Maxx “C”. Strong defensive cards that can be played from the hand, especially Battle Fader. An even stronger mid-game (after more cards and combos have been played), thanks to Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster Soldier, and Caius the Shadow Monarch. A strong early game (the first couple turns before many cards have been played) with simple attackers like Thunder King Rai-Oh and Dimensional Alchemist. Once they hit the Graveyard, a Chaos Duelist can banish them to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and Chaos Sorcerer. You will see that the majority of them is either playing goat control or anti-meta warrior.Courtney Waller won YCS Kansas with a Chaos Deck an underplayed strategy that most Duelists weren’t prepared for! Chaos Decks use powerful LIGHT and DARK monsters, like Thunder King Rai-Oh and Tour Guide from the Underworld. Go to dueling book, there is where the pro players play test any format before going to any important tourney. The very strong chaos monsters you mentioned are useless against necrovalley and kycoo. And cyber jar and morphing jar must have setup first because they give opponent advantage too.Īnother point, it’s very easy to counter an otk (waboku/roar, torrential, mirror force etc) and even the going 2nd side deck cards is very strong against special summon spam (lightning vortex, tribe infecting virus, etc) Cards to get back pot of greed and graceful charity? Really? The only good option to do that is magician of faith and you are playing otk so is slow, very slow to set flip monster. Still, I think you are a little bit entitled at some points. I still think you are wrong, otk in goat is not a great option, but who am I to judge people preferences. You prefer to play with otk and I prefer to play with control. Ok, seems the discussion isn’t going to advance. On that format you have a skill card, 3 zones for monsters, 3 zone for traps/spells and the extra deck size is different compared to tcg advanced. The format used on that game is called speed duels. If you are refering to duel links, it’s a game without competitive support. It’s slow and doesn’t have so much special summon spam. Goat format exist since 2005 and ironically is very similar to hearthstone. ![]() Compare an altergeist mirror match and a control warrior mirror match for example.Ĥ- I don’t know which “slow” mode you are refering to on yugioh since there is more than one. Now, let’s try fit those 3 arguments on a hearthstone match:ġ- Hearthstone games last at least 6-10 turns on general, even the most agressive type of deck can’t kill you on turn 1 or 2.Ģ- Every card on hearthstone have a mana cost, making the game more balanced because you can’t just spam a bunch of good cards on a single turn.ģ- Control, combo and midrange mirror matches are way longer on hearthstone than on yugioh. Still, even with hand traps at players disposal, there is still ways to stop them, called by the grave is a good example of this.Ģ- Yugioh has no limit of cards you can play at each turn, so it make easier to spam a bunch of special summons and end up with a board of multiple negations on turn 1.ģ- Even in control mirror matches the games are short in yugioh. Combo decks have insane turn 1 if they don’t get stopped by a hand trap at the exact moment to break their start so they don’t finish the combo with 5+ negates. In my opinion you are wrong and here are my reasons:ġ- Yugioh is a game so fast that you may lose on turn 1 or 2.
